Now I'm interested in seeing what it looks like without the side flaps. Anyone done it and have pics? Also, what are the replacement water bags called?

If you don't want a bladder you can get other aftermarket bottles on ebay. Bladder works fine though.

Are we talking about a legal body lift or suspension lift here that Xrox owners run into defect with if pinned. or the design of the bull bar itself. Only the first batches years ago that made it to the market, had a design flaw and were not ADR compliant and that was quickly rectified.

Highly doubt it is the design of the Xrox as they all, after installalation, should have a ADR compliance sticker placed on them.

It is to do with too much tyre being exposed doesn't matter if body or suspension.

Yes Xrox are legal at standard height the problem is when fitted to lifted 4wd. The problem with Xrox is partly due to the design it simply looks more exposed due to tube construction. With a lifted vehicle while the bullbar is still compliant the vehicle become non complaint for exposing too much tyre.

ADR 42 requires that mudguards cover an angle of at least 30 degrees from the vertical in front of the front wheels.

Early models of Xrox also had a forward leaning hoop which made them non complaint.

My understanding for WA

Anyone have any pictures of a TJM T15 Bullbars on their car? The photos supplied by the website and Google aren't great. And I can only find one thread on here that has a photo of them. My guess is they aren't that popular.

I can confirm it's not a T13 if that helps.

Does anyone know the pro's and cons of a post type bullbar vs a loop type?

I'm assuming the loop type is stronger due to the 3 tubes vs the two tubes of the post type? Is this correct? I'm looking at picking up an OL bar with my tax refund.

For reference..

dieselweasel,
Thanks for that mate. Perfect. I actually prefer the look of these bullbars.

98kellrs,
As for the difference, I think the 3 hoop type are weaker than the post type. I believe the cut required to install is also different. At least for the TJM version. Not sure about OL. If you're looking at strong the 3 hoop type, there's something like a $600 difference between TJM and OL.

I just called Opposite lock for a quote on a premium post type bar...over $2400 fitted!

That's $200 more than ARB's pricelist says a Deluxe winch bar would be. What did everyone else pay for their OL bar? Am I just paying WA tax again?

Nope, same price as Vic. Their prices are unreasonable. I would much rather go for Ironman or TJM for the cheaper ones.

Ridiculous, Looks like TJM might be on the cards. Not hugely drawn to Ironman for some reason

Neither, but it's one of the cheaper options?
I personally don't like the look of Ironman bullbars. I like the TJM fleet bars and MCC make some great bars too that are worth checking out. They have the most variety out of the brands and are cheaper than all of them too.

Yeah the basic ones are but MCC also offer those Xrox bars and some other designs not offered by Ironman. Either way, those two are the cheaper brands with a name attached to them.
If you really wanted to go cheap, there are OEM/unbranded steel MN bullbars you can get for ~$900.

Yeah not keen on the Ironman stuff, put a deposit on a TJM T13 outback bar, getting installed on the 18th. Saved a few hundred $$ over OL/ARB.

I'm missing a few bolts for a bullbar I'm trying to install.
What grade bolt should I be looking to purchase?
8.8? 10.9? 12.9?

Cheers

If you shear off 8.8's then you have much much bigger things to worry about.
The others are certainly overkill

Just checked my ARB bar and they are 8.8
2 grunts on the spanner should be ok

Haha cheers mate. I like the way you think.

So technically something like this should work?

I just don't really trust anything from them.
Might have to go to a proper fastener shop and get some better ones.

Anything by Champion will be OK as will anything from bunnings, although you will be paying through the nose

Really? I just assumed anything from either of those places were poor quality and not quite high tensile or strong enough to handle the bullbar. I'd need nylon nuts too so not sure if they'd have them at the right size.
I might still give a fasteners place a ring.

At the end of the day, bunnings supercheap repco etc are retailers and not manufacturers.
Yes they do sell cheap crap but they also sell quality.

Might still have to go to a fasteners because I don't believe the bolts sold at Bunnings/SCA etc. come in fine threaded. The pitches are too big for the threads in the MN chassis. The M10s I'm looking for are 1.25. Very specific otherwise they won't thread into the captive bolt in the chassis.
