Yeah 26, It was dry. Driest season in years we have been told. Ka Ka Mundi was a dust pit. Selvator Rosa has the spring and the creek which was really welcome. Mt Moffat was dry as buggery too but when you have views like this it makes up for it.Click to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger picture

It's official. My last day as a Triton owner will be Tuesday. My sweet rig has been traded and I dare say will makes its way to the auctions at some point in the very near future. I only hope she isn't bought for spares but such is life I suppose.

It has been an amazing rig and I'll have fond memories of her for a long time to come. I'll wack up a happy snap of the new ride when we pick it up on Tuesday for those that are interested.

Shame to see another long term owner sell. Have you got a trip report of the Carnarvon area. I have been to both my Moffat and Carnarvon but not to the Sana Rosa section

She's gone lads . Closing of another chapter. It was a brilliant rig and I'll miss the fact that it was very much my rig, she stood out for sure.

On the flip side, my blank canvas awaits.

Pretty sure they are going to wholesale it 26. I have a 7 day money back guarantee but so it should be in their possession during that time. Torque Toyota at Strathpine if you did want to follow up. Ask for Roy, he sold me the Prado. If you do happen to follow up PM me first.

Cheers

I know its not a Triton but I'm hoping the mods will humour me and let me keep posting my build and adventures in here.

I've already introduced my new rig, a 2014 150 Prado GXL Manual. It wasn't long before keeping it stock was boring and I needed to start kiting it out. The kids were making a mess of the floor so grabbed some 3d molded mats. Next came prep for Christmas, not having the ute meant space was at a premium so to fix that it was off to roof racks galore. Got them to fit a pioneer rack with the backbone system. The backbone replaces the factory roof rails and allows the platform to sit nice and low. Washing the roof will be a bit of a pain but being able to park in the city and the tidy look certainly makes up for it.

Those that have followed my build thus far know I like to do things a little differently. This weekend was spent doing just that. I had ordered some lighbars from Stedi and it was time to fit them up. Saturday was spent trying to get my hands in places they were never going to fit so Sunday I bit the bullet and just pulled the bumper right off. I know have a 27.5" behind the front grill and 2 13.5"bars in the lower bumper. I'll have them wired up with a whole bunch of other goodies as soon as the auto electrician is free.

Oh, and the head of legal at work reversed into my rig just after Christmas. Still waiting on insurance to give me the go ahead to get it fixed. It's been almost a month now and the quote I got from their recommended repairer came in at under 2k, so I'm thus far unimpressed with how long it's taking. Anyway, some happy snaps.Click to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger picture

Sounds like an expensive little dent c-dale.

That roof tray looks one of the better setups I've seen - very neat.

That light bar behind the grill - what where you thinking? You're losing about half the light and blocking airflow.

So how's the ride going otherwise?

Yeah, what has me worried though is that my car was parked between the lines, in a secure car park. I was no where near the car at the time and came back to find the dint and a note from the lady claiming responsibility. I then provided all the details to insurance, twice, once verbally and once written. Got a quote from a preferred repairer as advised and submitted to insurance. Have followed up twice, got one reply saying the decision was with management, no response to the 2nd follow up. It's now been almost a month and still no nearer to getting it fix. Now, given the above imagine the car was a write off... not really instilling confidence of a quick fix or replacement.

Love the rack.

I'm not worried about the lightbar blocking airflow, heaps of space in and around the bar, the radiator is massive and it's no worse than 2 9" spotties on a bullbar. Light output will be interesting but if its crap I have a few plans up my sleave ;)

It's a nice ride RHK, super comfortable and super stable both on raod and on gravel. Yet to take it on the beach or properly off-road but that day will come. Only filling up the tank once a month is also a dream, until you go to pay, haha

Photo of the Triton for good measure ;)
