Hey guys, got my SRS issue fixed about a week or two ago now. Apparently they had to replace a couple of relays and some wiring. Not sure about the details but they did pull up the center console to do it. So if you need to get it fixed, just a heads up if you have anything valuable in it.

Was totally free as well. I had the engine warning light come on for 20 minutes but then it went and hasn't come back so hmm.

Got mine done at Brissy City Mitsy But they have no courtesy car/bus so meh. Still, happy with the service and the fact its fixed.

I've not looked into it but buying some brake bulbs the other week I saw a sign at supercheap they now do ecu reading/code clearing & basic diagnostics.

Might be worth looking into what they got and if will clear the airbag light for anyone not wanting a bit of hurt for a dealer to do it

basic obdii scanners will clear non standing cel codes but not airbag specific issues.

Just had some side curtain wiring looms & pretensioners changed by dealer in Adelaide,
vehicle is out of warranty (march 2011 delivery) & I am the second owner,
when the warranty finished I took the vehicle to a 4WD specialist workshop for services,
returned to the dealer to clear SRS code, & they quoted about $1k to do the job...
dealer offered to contact MMA for some "goodwill" toward the cost as it was not long out of warranty,
MMA came back & covered 100% of the cost + loan car!
very happy with the outcome

Hey Guys,
I've been scrolling through the forums but i can't see anything that relates to my prob, so I thought I would post to ask.

My airbag light came on while out 4WD'n. I had an auto sparky read the codes today and he told me the airbag control box needs to be reset. Apparently they have a pendulum in there and when it gets knocked, it throws the airbag warning light. My airbags didn't deploy, but he told me that they won't with this warning light on?

Apparently there are some places around that will swap out another unit for you or reset your current one.
Unfortunately this is all 2nd hand info so i'm not really sure what's true and what my options are.

Can anyone share some more info?

edit: code is B1499 control unit collision decision

Myk3y, I'd say the pendulum is part of the airbag deployment scenario, not just to set a warning light. A dealer should be able to reset for around $50 or a slab, if you're on good terms.

My warning light just came on again. I replaced clock spring just before airbag recall work was carried out. On leaving dealer at that time, I noticed light on. On return to dealer, they mutted the car and found a drivers floor loom fault code. The light reset and has stayed off until the last couple of days.

I'm just having a thought, I hired a cherry picker the other day, wondering if its electrics have caused my issue?

Re floor loom, is this the lead to the drivers seat belt sensor?

So today I found out that the launch cr123 diagnostic tool will reset my airbag light!!! Mate has one at his workshop so I gave it a go after checking all my airbag connections ect. Turned off and thankfully I haven't seen it since!
It wasn't me!!!

The Launch CRP123 resets 2007 ML Triton airbag light after a new clock spring was installed. Now have a new fault code B1404.

Crp123 fixed my SRS light 08ml.

It correctly logged the drivers side pretensioner loom. Cleaned the plugs and sockets at each end, reset and stayed off for a couple of weeks now.

well, after going for a short drive yesterday, my srs light is now on and won't go away...how much do dealers/mechanics in Brissy charge for this kind of work/diagnosis? or am i better off forking out the cash and buying a unit myself. was looking at this one. http://www.autel.com.au/products/scan-t ... ite-md802/

edit:
nevermind...for some reason i read "CRP123" as a user on the forum and didnt realise it was a product "Launch CRP123". i'll just invest in a unit.

You'll need something like the launch123 or equiv to cancel the SRS light. Torque, etc won't do it.

A friendly dealer might reset it for $50 or a slab.

Ok, so I read a lot of posts about the SRS / Air bag warning light and have figured out I have a fault code that originated from when I fitted an new radio and disconnected the passenger air bag when I took out the glove box (I switched on the ignition when it was disconnected to test the new radio).....blah blah....
Anyway the point of this is that the crooks at Melville Mazda just quoted me $160 to clear the code and reactivate the passenger side airbag!!
Does anyone know someone in Perth, WA, that won't rip me off that much for a 2 minute job?
I have tried the RAC as I have always found them honest to deal with, but they only have a Scangauge(?) that I understand won't clear the air bag codes.

Well, not that long ago I had the airbag warning light come on s we were heading South towards Margaret River with the caravan on the back. I 'phoned Mandurah Mitsubishi and they said "bring it in and we will have a look" Sure enough it was a fault in the airbag wiring.

Turns out the wiring harness for the airbags in installed under the floor and across the roof and while the parts only cost a hundred dollars or so dismantling half the car to replace them takes half a day and costs a bomb - $625 to be precise.

Credit to Mandurah Mitsubishi - they lent us a car and rushed the job so that we were on our way the next day but I could have done without the expense.

Hi , just wanted to share my experience with the SRS system and a scanner that will work.

Airbag light on a week ago, scanner would not delete, so assumed an active fault. Both side bags and LH curtain showing open circuit. Logically to have three simultaneous faults is unlikeley and most probably a connector or harness fault.
Removed seats, console, to gain access to SRS computer. All plugs coloured yellow, including RH kickcover.removed ,cleaned with crc contact cleaner.
Do not turn on ignition with plugs removed. It is ok to remove seats and plugs, but once again do not turn on ignition.
Best to read SRS servicing precautions and remove negative battery lead. Made up three dummy resistors soldered to 6 fine dressmakers pins. 3.3 ohm 5watt. Gently inserted into seat plug(loom back to computer) and at terminal 1 and 2 rear connector of plug C153.(left plug at computer, top two left pins at plug rear) This has now effectively put in place 3 dummy airbags for when the computer does its 7 second diagnostic. prior to this I have ascertained that the side (seat) wiring shows continuity back to the computer.
Reconnect the battery and plugging in my CRP123 scan tool showed the faults were now listed as" stored". The launcCRP123 will read the codes but will not delete them. The hallalluyah moment came when I decided to change countrys in the menus, then choose Triton 2010 under JAPAN not Australia. Airbag light was then deleted. Remove dummy resistors, replace seats and all plugs and retest again with scan gauge. All good, light remains off.
The reason inserting the dummy resistor into the the back of the side curtain plug at the computer is to avoid unnecessary hoodlining removal if the fault turns out to be wiring or plugs at floor level in the vehicle .

hi there
well I have just return home from lake callide, biloera qld . on the way up there my air bag light came on just pass brisbane, When I arrive there I took the triton in to the dealer at biloera .
the dealer checked the light out and found out it was the drivers side pillar bag . I was told it would be a 6 to 7 hour job and two wiring harness. $1000 plus and he said mits would not cover it as warrenty being 12months out of warrenty . So I sent a email to mits and next day they contacted me and was told they would cover it as a good will warrent claim .
I thought it was christmass I than drop the triton off to have this work done and the dealer supply me with a loan car, and mits rang me the day after to check that I was happy with the work done, this then turn out a good holiday . except the yamaha out board played up cost 400km and 292 dollars two trips to gladson . and the outboard still played up again I told the repairer it was the coil and he said it was fuel I saved money on the car but spent some on the ouboard for what I couldn't return it for repairs it was saturday and I was returning home to grafton. just caught red claw no fish

I got this fault last week. SRS light on MY14 MN Triton GLX+. 60,000kms

I am 10 or so months outside of wty and have had nothing but trouble with the local dealers in the past so on reading this thread from front to back I just went and ebayed a Launch CRP123 (the Creader Vii+ version to be precise) $170 delivered express post.

Initially it didn't see the SRS module but after an update it did ...phew. (download the software from the legit launch site not the Chinese ones)

Found 2 SRS Faults:
1) FL Curtain ABG Squib open (stored)
2) FR Side ABG Squib open (stored)

being that they were both stored I believe that means not currently occurring so i cleared them (which I actually had to change to japan 2010 to clear just like Prospector - thanks mate). The light is now gone and a new scan comes up clean

I will come back and update if the faults come back and any follow up action required.

If it saved me 1 trip to the dealers and time without my car and the many hrs pissing about dropping off and picking up then I will be happy with the price paid.

You have faulty airbag harnesses. Next time the lights come on do not erase codes, go to another dealer. Even though you are out of warranty a goodwill claim would be in order.

It would be worth checking which wiring harness connector is common to both those items.

On my ml, the right hand harness ( which was a common one, I think) came up a few years ago. Had it cleared by a dealer while it was in for other work. A few months later it returned.

I decided to trace the loom and got to the connectors at each end. Wiring checked out perfect. Reassembled the wiring after using some contact cleaner on the plugs and sockets. Cleared the SRS light and haven't had a repeat
