Power line for tray/tub?

Power line for tray/tub?

Postby Headley on Mon Nov 12, 2018 5:48 pm

Hey guys,

Looking to wire in some LED strip lighting under the hard tonneau cover soon. Is there an available 12 volt supply there somewhere?

Can i tap the power for reverse lights?

Would it be best to run a line from the battery to the tray?

Also wanting to put a reversing camera in sometime soon as well so i'm thinking one power line for both would be good?

Might be worth running a positive negative fused line from the battery in big cable. You can than terminate into a fuse block and use this for anything you like in the future.

Easier to run one line than multiple small lines as you need

Just my thoughts, you may want to power a fridge or USB connectors in the future for example

Do a main bus direct from the battery with a fuse at the battery. I would also recommend a negative cable to reduce losses and help prevent any stray currents that could interfere with the vehicles electronics.
Don't let the b'strds get you down!!
