Α question!!!

Postby stefanos on Sun Nov 14, 2021 3:23 pm

Hello my friends.
We have not talked for a long time.As many of you, know that my ute ,seats more than a year in my garage because of 3d time engine failed.

And the question.
As I've heard in the end of 2019(I don't know if this is correct )MMAL give for the replacements new code motors(I dont know if the head is the same).
Do you know what's the code of this engine??And what's the difference from previous 4d56,or what changes have.
Do you have any issues with this engines??

Here in Greece I think it's impossible to see this engine!!but I want to look for it
If I have no effect with this motor,my first option is 4m41>'10 and second is bmw m57.

Ps...I'm sorry if this is not the place for this topic

Thanks
Stefanos

Ηi Toni
it is impossible for a company to change engines with a different code for a car that has stopped production

Not really sure on that one mate. Mine is a 2010 MN which like you say is no longer in production. My best guess is that they have to replace like for like.

No failures in over 2 years. The machining on the block has been improved

Hi Stef, how ya going?

I have the 4m41 and touch wood, no issues at over 300/K.

My son had the MN with the 4D56, preowned, and still no issues at around 190k, when he trade up to MR.

Anyhows, we had to replace the head gasket on the Jeep he had previously. During researching head machining, I was amazed how smooth and flat the block and head surfaces have to be for modern engines. Based on this, it wouldn't take much, such as poor matching to cause gasket failure.

Then in your case Stef, weren't you trying to pump 8litre performance out of the little donk? lol.
Don't let the b'strds get you down!!

I don't know....a friend told me to give it another chance !! He remap the engine and the programmer said that the air fuel ratio was to poor on acceleration !! His car have now more than 220 hp and 50 kg torque without a problem
