Help please front knock when releasing

Postby Jsolomon on Tue Nov 20, 2018 5:19 pm

Hi all,
I brought a 2014 triton last week from a dealer.
I have 2 issues with it which I took it back to dealer for today.

When you take your foot off the accelerator sometimes there is a knock sound that can also be felt in the floor.
I can be made to happen by driving jerky but does not happen every time

The dealer doesn’t seem to think there is any think wrong but inspected engine/ body mounts
And tightened up assorted suspension and steering compontants

I insisted on going for a drive with the mechanic to show him the problem before it went in
And he thought it might be a body mount

The other issue is while accelerating , I am assuming it is the turbo while on boost but sounds really high pitched almost like a beep
What’s everyone else turbo sound like as the have ashored me that’s just how it sounds but inspected all hoses
What should I do the noise a feel in the front is defenly not right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Good luck with your front end noise been chasing one for years 5 different mechanics can't find it happened after a big hit in a washout I just keep on rattling along, the turbo should be pretty quiet with only a faint whistle most noticeable around 2000rpm under load.

Thanks it is going back on Monday
Went for another run with the mechanic and he agrees that knock sound should not be there but thinks the turbo noise is fine it can’t be it is so anoying and high pitched and higher in the rev range then 2000 rpm
