MQ exhaust manifold

We have an MQ with 150,000 kms

It has a major crack in the exhaust manifold between ports.

It would be interesting to know if its common or there is a fault that
would be covered by Mitsy dealer
Cheers

Yes it was becoming a common fault when I left Mitsubishi at the start of the year. I'm pretty sure there was a hotline fix covering the issue, a new manifold had been introduced which had a different welding pattern. Best bet would be to take it to a dealer.

tell him to put it in writing that the split manifold is fit for the purpose as you are taking it to fair trading and social media..
.get his permission to record his comments...

Hi Champ, with you having been at Mitsubishi what other issues can you reveal that were showing up and in your opinion were there any other preventative measures we as owners can do to give the MQ a long healthy life,

Thanks champ, Wunsie

Look out for stitching on drivers seat coming apart by where you drag your butt into place. this is on all models up till Jan 2019.

Left front stabilizer bar nuts on linkage coming undone. Torque was 40 nm, this has been increased to 80nm. This is SHOULD be done as part of every service.

P1299 VGT control system low pressure. Software update for Engine PCM

IMHO the MQ, and even more the MR are so much better than MN.
